CIEE Open Campus in Buenos Aires, Argentina
Being one of the twenty largest cities in the world has its benefits. Buenos Aires offers a vibrant theater district, shops, and dynamic neighborhoods. Stately architecture and a steady influx of European immigrants have earned it the nickname Paris of South America. With a population of 13 million, Buenos Aires offers a rich array of educational and cultural opportunities.
Experience Buenos Aires your way by customizing your study abroad experience through our Open Campus program with an English-language program designed for students at US universities. - Learn outside of the classroom on weekend Study Tours and experience the Argentine countryside.
Founded in 1536, this bustling metropolis reveals influence of Europe and the Middle East. A vibrant port city, Buenos Aires is also the world’s leading Spanish language publishing hub.
Students must enroll in two credit-bearing courses per block, and can opt into the non-credit survival language course in additional to their normal credit load. Due to the intensive nature of the Block system, two courses per block is considered a full-time academic load. All students are required to maintain full-time status. Each course is 3 semester / 4.5 quarter credits, unless otherwise noted.
CIEE Academic Projects are approximately 100-120 total hours of field-based work/internship, service-learning, or independent research hours, plus 15 seminar hours and meetings with CIEE faculty advisors, for 3 semester / 4.5 quarter credits. Students applying for an Academic Project will be required to submit additional materials during the course selection process.
